Many famous faces have paid tribute to the late Sir Sean Connery who has died at the age of 90.
The legendary Scottish actor was the first to portray James Bond in film, starring in the likes of Dr No, You Only Live Twice, Diamonds Are Forever and Never Say Never Again.
According to the BBC, Connery died overnight in his sleep while in the Bahamas after being unwell for some time.
Tributes have poured in for the star as many took to social media to pay their respects.
Daniel Craig paid tribute to his fellow James Bond actor, saying: “The wit and charm he portrayed on screen could be measured in mega watts; he helped create the modern blockbuster.”
Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon tweeted: “My thoughts and condolences are with Micheline, their children and all the family. RIP Sir Sean Connery.”

The James Bond official Twitter page shared a statement from producers Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli.
It read: “We are devastated by the news of the passing of Sir Sean Connery. He was and shall always be remembered as the original James Bond whose indelible entrance into cinema history began when he announced those unforgettable words – ‘The name’s Bond… James Bond’ – he revolutionised the world with his gritty and witty portrayal of the sexy and charismatic secret agent.
“He is undoubtedly largely responsible for the success of the film series and we shall be forever grateful to him.”

Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan wrote: “RIP Sir Sean Connery, 90. The first James Bond. The best James Bond. What sad news.”
Eamonn Holmes tweeted: “No doubt he epitomised James Bond but don’t forget there were so many other roles. True movie star who owned the screen. RIP Sean Connery.”
Actress Elizabeth Hurley added: “RIP the glorious Sean Connery.”

Connery was married to Diane Cilento in 1962 before they divorced in 1973, though they separated in 1971.
The former couple had a son Jason Connery, who is also an actor.
Connery then married the Moroccan-French painter Micheline Roquebrune in 1975.
In 1988, he won an Oscar after being named as the best supporting actor for his role in The Untouchables.
He was knighted in 2000 by the Queen at Holyrood Palace.
