Emmerdale fans accused Jimmy King of sharing “too much information” on Friday’s episode, as he lifted the lid on his sex life with Nicola.
Concerned they hadn’t enjoyed any action in the bedroom for some time, Jimmy (Nick Miles) arranged an intimate kayaking date, hoping it could bring back their spark.
The worried hubby told Will Taylor about a steamy moment he had shared with Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) several years ago when they had got passionate in on the side of a motorway.
Remembering how their van broke down, he said they “had to clamber into the back, huddled together for warmth, well one thing lead to another and… that’s how we got together.”
He continued: “It’s evolved into some kind of a role-playing game. You know, me in some kind of a uniform, her wearing very little.
“She’s been so busy with the cafe, we’ve kind of let that side of our marital side slip, so I thought I’d get her up here.”
Meanwhile, watching from home, viewers were feeling a little uncomfortable over the saucy revelation, as they urged Jimmy to change the subject.
One Twitter user said: “Urrrrgh!!! Enough already Jimmy!!! #Emmerdale”
“And they say romance is dead…#Emmerdale,” quipped a second.
And a third wrote: “#Emmerdale EWW! Too much Info Jimmy!”
Nicola and Jimmy have been an item ever since 2009, where they had a spontaneous one-night-stand in the back of a haulage van after an evening of boozing.
After Nicola gave birth to their daughter Angelica, the pair tied the knot the following year, making them one of the longest-lasting couples in the village.
This isn’t the first time the couple have hinted at their sex life on the soap – the lovebirds once raised a few eyebrows when they dressed up in costumes inspired by An Officer and a Gentleman for some romantic roleplay.
During this evening’s episode, realising Nicola had stood him up for his kayaking date, Jimmy invited Will (Dean Andrews) along for a trip around the lake, commiserating over his cancelled wedding.
In a stroke of good luck, the pair got along famously and headed back to the bar to sink a few beers together.
Will has endured a miserable few months, having learned his wife-to-be Harriet Finch (Katherine Dow Blyton) was sleeping with his mortal enemy DI Malone (Mark Womack) in a seedy affair.
However, his newfound friendship with Jimmy managed to put a smile back on his face, hinting the pair could be a permanent double act around the village.
Emmerdale airs on weekdays at 7pm on ITV, with an extra helping at 7.30pm on Thursdays.
