Meghan Markle gets own fro-yo flavour after business name drop in Oprah TV chat

Meghan Markle has landed her very own frozen yoghurt flavour at the business she used to work at when she was just 13 years old.

The Duchess of Sussex, 39, told Oprah Winfrey during her interview with husband Prince Harry about the time she worked in the shop and ever since business has been booming for them.

Humphrey Yogart, in Los Angeles, was Meghan’s first real job before she went on to become an actress and star in TV shows including Suits before she wed the royal.

A day after the interview aired first in the US, over 200 people flooded into the teeny yoghurt shop.

As a thank you for mentioning them, bosses have whipped up a very special for Meghan and Harry – they have named a flavour after them.

They have produced a limited edition flavour called Banana Royale.

The royal special in honour of the couple, who are parents to Archie and expecting their second, is made up of banana and peanut butter ice cream.

It is a take on Meghan and Harry’s favourites which they have mentioned in previous interviews.

It combines Meghan’s love of chocolate chip banana bread and Harry’s taste for peanut butter.

According to TMZ, the shop at Gelson’s grocery, in Sherman Oaks gets around 50 customers on a regular Monday.

The exact branch Meghan worked at has closed since the days she worked there.

All of the Humphrey Yogart’s shops have closed with the exception of one.

The original shop remains in Sherman Oaks.

During her interview with Oprah, Meghan made the name drop about the business as she praised the fact she does know the struggles of working in the cuisine industry.

She said: “Thank God I had that life experience. Thank God I had known the value of working.

“My first job was when I was 13 at a frozen yogurt shop called Humphrey Yogart.”

The flavour in their honour isn’t the first time the shop had given a nod to Meghan.

In 2018, they released a special ice cream to celebrate the Royal wedding of Meghan and Harry.

At the time, they offered a 50% discount on the peanut butter and strawberry ice cream combination.
