The Loose Women ladies did not hold back on their perspectives today, as they discussed the ongoing reports regarding sexual abuse and misconduct that takes place in schools, particularly pertaining to young girls.
The Loose Women shared their personal experiences of inappropriate conduct and it was startling to discover that most of them have experienced a form of sexual harassment in one way or another.
Leading the conversation today, presenter Ruth Langsford explained her distress and experience with sexual misconduct.
Ruth spoke openly about her own personal experience and confessed that she was groped before in a public place when she was young but didn’t feel she could tell anyone or do anything about it.

Ruth said: “Widespread issues with sexual abuse and rape culture in schools continue to dominate the headlines today and this has lead to one of Britain’s senior police officers to urge parents to hand their children into the police if they suspect them of sexually abusing or harassing others.”
The presenter then explained how shocked she was that victims were still unable to tell anybody about the abuse that they have faced.
Ruth then went further to divulge into her own personal experience.

Ruth, 70 said: “Back in the day when I was a teenager, and I’ve written about it in my column tis week, I’ve had a man put his hand up my skirt on a packed tube, I’ve had a man flash at me on a crowded tube station.”
“And I was probably 12 or 13 years old and I didn’t do anything about it because we didn’t know what to do about it.”
Ruth explained that she was able to tell her friends but nobody professional. The star continued to say that she is shocked that this conduct still takes place in schools when there are so many systems currently in place.

Janet also commented on this and said it may be due to their upbringing and said she thinks things have changed.
Janet remarked: “As far as sexual harassment goes and the worst things you mentioned…we were somehow bought up to think that somehow we’re brought up to think that maybe we were responsible in some way. In some mad irrational way.”
