Nikki Grahame's supportive ex Pete Bennett showered her with hugs before death

Nikki Grahame enjoyed cuddles with her supportive ex-boyfriend and fellow Big Brother co-star Pete Bennett just weeks before she died at the age of 38.

The former reality star, beloved for giving us some of the best memes of our generation, died on Friday.

The tragic news was confirmed on Saturday by her agency and in an update on a GoFundMe page set up by her friends to get Nikki private help to battle her anorexia.

Since she was seven years old, the star has battled an eating disorder.

Amid lockdown, mum Sue told This Morning last week how Nikki was the worst she had ever seen her due to the fact she would not eat if she could not exercise properly.

Due to the gyms being closed, Sue said Nikki struggled with this and it was a “battle”.

Following the sad news, fans have picked up on the lovely thought that Nikki got to reunite with her ex and longtime friend Pete just weeks before she died.

The pair rose to fame together in Big Brother and had a romance that was adored by the nation.

Neither afraid to be themselves it really was quite the sweet love story.

Sadly they did break up but always remained friends with Nikki saying she will “always be fond” of Pete.

Last month Pete shared an adorable picture of him and Nikki lovingly hugging as she leaned into him as he beamed towards the camera.

Pete, who won Big Brother of his year in 2006, captioned the snap: “Pete and Nikki March 2021 visiting my nikki and still cuddling to this day :).

“Remember the fundraiser to help get her into a specialist anorexia clinic is in my bio! #savenikkig.”

Nikki rose to fame on the show after she made her iconic phrase in the diary room: “Who is she?!”
