Birds Of A Feather's Linda Robson says feud with co-star is ‘load of codswallop’

Icon Linda Robinson has broken her silence on the ‘feud’ with her Birds Of A Feather co-star.

She says the reported falling out between her and Pauline Quirke isn’t true, claiming “it’s a load of old codswallop”.

The actress had been involved in an alleged face-off with Lesley Joseph outside TV studio toilets, writes The Sun.

The 63-year-old, who played Tracey Stubbs since the show aired in 1989, insists Pauline missed last year’s Christmas special was to step away from the limelight.

Linda said Pauline, 61, wanted to concentrate on her acting academy instead and there was no feud like rumours suggested.

She said: “Take no notice of what you’ve heard about me and Pauline falling out. It’s a load of old codswallop.”

The pair have known each other since they were 10 years old and Linda says they remain friends.

But she couldn’t say whether Pauline, who played Tracey’s sister Sharon Theodopolopodous, would ever make a comeback on the show.

She added: “I just know that the Christmas special went down really well. ITV were really, really pleased.”

They met at Islington’s Anna Scher Theatre School in the late 1960s.

But it was Birds Of A Feather, which saw 15million viewers a week at its peak, which the pair are most known for.

In February there were rumours that their friendship had broken down over an alleged row on set, over Pauline’s decision to take part in the 30th-anniversary show and not being a part of the Christmas special a year later.

However, Linda denies this is the case.

Linda lives in Wandsworth with husband Mark Dunford and share daughter Roberta, 25, and son Louis, 29, together.

She also has a daughter Lauren, 38, from a previous relationship.

Linda has also been a regular panellist on ITV’s Loose Women since 2012.

The mum credits her Loose Women pals with saving her life after co-star Stacey Solomon rushed her back to London from a trip in Ibiza in 2018 so she could attend rehab.

Linda had turned to alcohol to help cope with anxiety, which she believes stems from 2008 when her son Louis’ friend Ben Kinsella was knifed to death while they were celebrating their GCSEs.

Linda said: “All the Loose Women were so supportive.

“We were in Ibiza, sort of had a breakdown and Stacey flew home with me early. All of the Loose Women were great. The whole time I wasn’t, so they were ringing all the time. A few of them came to see me and that, so yeah, it was really nice they’ve been brilliant.
