Liam Gallagher's clothing line 'unable to pay creditors the £16million it owes'

Liam Gallagher’s now defunct clothing range Pretty Green reportedly owes creditors close to £16million.

The former Oasis frontman launched the exclusive brand in 2009 but it was plunged into administration in 2019.

Sports giant JD Sports bought the brand the same year to try and rescue its fortunes.

But, according to latest Pretty Green company paperwork uncovered by The Sun, creditors will only be given a share of £133,751.

A report by administrators filed to Companies house said: “The administrators have received claims totalling £13,188,853 from 172 creditors in respect of Pretty Green Ltd.

‘The administrators are yet to receive claims from 108 creditors whose debts total £2,541,836.

“Based on current information, and in accordance with the information available at the time of the Proposals, the Joint Administrators do not anticipate there being sufficient funds to enable a dividend to be paid to the unsecured creditors other than by virtue of the Prescribed Part.”

Liam, now a successful solo artist in his own right, launched the trendy brand a decade ago to replicate his own eclectic sense of style.

And at first the brand was a big hit with his army of supporters, many of whom tried to look the star in trademark parkers and Indie beanie hats.

His incredible success with brother Noel in Oasis shot the singer to worldwide fame.

But poor sales and debts forced the menswear brand to close and even special advisors brought in to boost sales didn’t work.

However, despite the company’s troubles its flagship store in Manchester will remain open.
