Prince Harry’s cousin Lady Kitty Spencer has spoken openly about her roots and the connection she feels to her aunty, Princess Diana’s burial ground.
Speaking openly to Town and Country, the model and fashion enthusiast discussed the Spencer estate and her life growing up abroad in South Africa while still making frequent visits to the UK.
The 13,000-acre Althorp estate located in Northamptonshire, where Kitty was born, has been in the Spencer family for more than 500 years.
The royal describes the estate as feeling “the most like home” when she is there.
The property is covered in history, with paintings by Rubens, Reynolds and Van Dyck hanging on the walls.

It is also the estate where the late Princess Diana is laid to rest.
Explaining her emotional ties with the estate and the connection her family has with the property, Kitty explained: “We have such an emotional attachment to Althorp.
“That’s where we would have our Easter egg hunts and our Christmases; I have my little vegetable patch, I learnt to ride a horse there, I learnt to ride a bike and to rollerblade. It’s so lovely to look back on the history and think everybody else probably learnt to ride a horse there, too.”

Lady Kitty also expressed that she has missed the property the most and due to lockdown restrictions she was unable to go there as frequently.
Recently the aristocrat hit headlines as several reports suggested that she has romantic links to businessman Michael Lewis.
Despite rumours circulating, Lady Kitty has often withheld information on her private life and has not publicly confirmed the romance.
She explained: “I feel less vulnerable when I don’t discuss things like my love life. I just think, ‘Really, what’s that got to do with anyone else?’ It shouldn’t make a difference to anyone’s day. Who I love or don’t love, or have a crush on or don’t have a crush on, or go on a date with, I don’t know why that should be what somebody reads over their cornflakes.”
The royal expressed that as long as she continues to keep her private life “sacred” it will continue to be that way.
