Nikki Grahame’s dad died of cancer just days after star’s tragic death aged 38

Nikki Grahame’s dad tragically lost his battle with pancreatic cancer just days after the Big Brother star died of anorexia nervosa.

The 38-year-old reality star’s body was found in her home in London last month, after she was discharged from Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester.

Nikki’s mum Sue, 66, told the Sunday Mirror that her ex-husband David had sadly died just nine days later.

“I am destroyed. There’s part of me that’s lost forever. My fight to get Nikki well started 30 years ago. In the end, I lost her. It has been the fight from hell.”

Doctors told Sue that her daughter was suffering from bradycardia, or a very low heart rate.

They also had concerns over her liver, plus a cracked pelvis and wedge fracture in her spine from falling.

Nikki also had hypoglycaemia, causing her to faint a lot.

“The nurses were amazing but I told every single one, ‘She mustn’t go home. She’s too ill’. Her father even called and told the hospital, ‘If you let her leave, Nikki will die’. But they still threw her out,” she emotionally revealed.

The hospital’s NHS Foundation Trust confirmed it is carrying out a full internal investigation, with a spokesman confirming: “Staff at the Trust were deeply saddened to learn of the death of Miss Grahame, and our thoughts are with the family and friends of Miss Grahame at this very difficult time.

“A full internal investigation into the circumstances of Miss Grahame’s death is currently underway. This is in line with standard procedures following any sudden death.

“All information and findings arising from this investigation will be shared confidentially with Miss Grahame’s family, and thereafter with the Coroner as part of any Coronial process,” he continued.

“The Trust will do everything it can to assist the Coroner in any ongoing Coronial process.”

Nikki was staying at the hospital after suffering a fall while waiting to be admitted to an NHS anorexia unit she thought could help her achieve recovery.

But she died before she was given a place.

“Losing her is the worst thing that’s ever happened to me. I miss that little girl so much

“But to watch her suffer, knowing I couldn’t do anything, was harder,” Sue added.

The pair were close-knit until the very end, sharing their last phone call at 3:30am on the day her daughter’s body was found.

The conversation ended with Sue telling Nikki “night night”, and didn’t hear from her again that day.

Her body was finally found at 4:30pm.
