Masked Dancer's Knickerbocker Glory unmasked as Strictly's Craig Revel Horwood

Craig Revel Horwood was unmasked during Friday’s edition of The Masked Dancer as Knickerbocker Glory.

The Strictly Come Dancing judge said: “I did enjoy it but I was extremely nervous. So I really feel for the celebs as it is terrifying. I wanted to prove to myself that I had the guts to do something like this.”

Explaining why he took on the show, Craig said: “I haven’t danced for years and thought it a fun challenge.

“It was a really happy character and fun to play.

“The panel were a riot with some hilarious guesses.”

When it came to the panel’s guesses, Mo Gilligan thought it was Rylan Clark, Davina McCall guessed Julian Clary and Jonathan Ross thought it was Aussie star Jason Donovan.

After Craig was eliminated it was up to Carwash and Frog to perform for the last space in the final as Zip, Squirrel and Scarecrow all made it straight through Saturday’s show.

For the semi-final, John Bishop joined the panel alongside Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall, Mo Gilligan and Oti Mabuse.

Asked by host Joel Dommett if he has a dancing background, the comedian teased: “Not a lot myself but I do have a son who is a professionally trained dancer… but that is my claim.”

Playfully bigging up the judging rivalry, Jonathan hit out: “He does not have what it takes to study and compute and then guess.

Laughing, Davina admitted she has hardly taken any notes on who is who during the series, though added that Mo ‘had got like three pages’ of notes.

Prior to Friday night’s semi-final a host of famous faces had been unmasked.

Sporting ace Eddie the Eagle was revealed to be the mystery performer behind Rubber Chicken.

As well as his impressive career as an Olympic ski jumper, Eddie, 57, had a biopic made about him in 2016 where Taron Egerton took on the lead.

Most recently BBC Radio DJ Zoe Ball was unmasked as Llama.

The 50-year-old star couldn’t help but gush over her involvement in the show when revealing her true identity.

She said: “The whole thing is bonkers – I loved being Llama and trotting about. Not speaking was hard though.

“It’s still nerve-wracking – lots of heavy breathing and sweating but ultimately an absolute hoot.

“I definitely wouldn’t be as brave without my Llama disguise. The outfit gives you a superpower.”

The Masked Dancer is a spin-off of ITV’s popular main show The Masked Singer

The Masked Dancer will conclude on Saturday night where one celeb will win the kooky competition.

While it’s not known if the show will return but ITV has already confirmed its sister show The Masked Singer will record a third series later this year.

Rita Ora will return to the judging panel after missing Masked Dancer due to a schedule clash.

The singer is currently living Down Under after being booked as a judge on The Masked Singer.
