Hollywood singer and actress Jessica Simpson has always been a vision of beauty but in recent years she has decided to shed some serious pounds and tone of her famously-known figure.
The 40-year-old blonde bombshell has always turned heads but nowadays she wows fans by showing off her super-slim frame in social media posts.
The star is a familiar face to most from her appearance in action-comedy Dukes of Hazzard where she was cast as stunning blonde Daisy Duke.
Over the years, she has felt a far cry from being able to pop on the iconic Daisy Duke denim shorts but has recently found the confidence to sport them again and she looks just as flawless in them as she did back in 2005.
These days Los Angeles-based beauty resides in her family home with her husband and NFL player Eric Johnson and their three children Maxwell, Ace and Birdie.
The mum-of-three bought the £11.5m mansion from Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne and the pad is on another level.
The lavish gaff boats six bedrooms, while the mansion also has 2.5 acres of outdoor space, a home theatre, a swimming pool and a spa – plenty of room for exercise, eh?!
The all-around star often uses her swanky pad to pose for her 5.6m Instagram followers showing off sultry selfies and family-filled fun.
How she did it
Jessica reportedly dropped the baby weight in just six months after welcoming her third baby and second daughter Birdie Mae to the world two years ago.
She has since revealed earlier this year that she now tips the scales at the “high two hundreds” mark but admits she actually has “no idea” how much she weighs precisely as she’s thrown away her scales.
This could be due to her trainer Harley Pasternak’s approach to weight loss.
“I never work with scales,” Harley told People.
“My work with her is more about the habits she’s created and kept up. And as a byproduct of doing these habits, she lost 100 pounds.”
The trainer has worked with the singer for many years and seems to have set Jessica up for success by guiding her with holistic lifestyle changes.
He added: “The difference between this and the other times was that she worked out, yes, but her transformation was more about what she did on her own time.
“I’ve kind of helped her come back after each baby, and this is a bit different, in that she said she was tipping the scales at 240 [post-delivery].
“This is sort of the aggregate of being pregnant nonstop for a decade, and so we had a little more of a challenge between this and the other ones.”
Feeling peckish
The star also shared that her new look is due to a calorie-controlled diet, one that is very heavy on eggs.
Her food routine was also broken down by trainer Harley back in 2019, who revealed all to Hollywood Life.
He told the publication: “She would eat one whole egg and three egg whites for breakfast, scrambled with a bowl of blackberries.
“For lunch, she would have a salad with grilled chicken and grilled fish with salad and vegetables for dinner.
“As for snacks, she would have almonds and sometimes green beans with Parmesan cheese on top.”
Work it out
During the height of her rapid weight loss, Jessica walked 14,000 steps each day and enjoyed family strolls with her family.
She also completed 45-minute sessions three days a week and impressed her trainers along the way.
The slow-paced but effective exercise plan certainly paid off, as Jessica managed to shed the weight healthily, and spent extra time with her kids and husband.
More tricks
According to her trainer, Jessica’s weight loss went further working out and eating right.
She was also told to “Unplug from technology” for at least an hour every day to help her get feel restful before bed.
The final commandment the star followed was catching at least 7 hours of sleep every night.
Her trainer Harley said: “So many people undervalue the importance of sleep in weight loss and weight management.
“Every night before she goes to bed she sends an email showing that she hit all five tasks, so she’ll go to bed feeling successful.
“She’s hit her step goal, she’s eaten well, she’s balanced her responsibilities — so she can go to bed with a sense of fulfilment, and that’s everything.”
Keeping it up
Jessica reportedly had a huge attitude transformation too – not just physical.
Harley added: “She was so motivated and positive. She was saying that her body has not belonged to her for the past decade.
“Not in a bad way, in a positive way—her body has been designated to create life and now it’s hers again and she’s going to make it fantastic in a really enjoyable way.”
Jessica has revealed that lives a “balanced lifestyle” since the dramatic weight loss transformation and admits to treating herself to her favourite dish mac and cheese.
The star also shared her secret of working out in the mornings before her “kiddos” are up.
Well done Jessica – amazing work!
