Tipping Point celebrates £10,000 winner Christina as she plans Ghana getaway

In Tipping Point : Best Ever Finals, the show celebrated some of its favourite finalists ever – and Christina, who appeared on the show in 2018, made the cut.

The contestant managed to bag £10,000 in a nail-biting final round alongside a holiday to Rome, and the travel fanatic will certainly be making the most of her cash.

It hit a point where she would either leave with £3,300 or a whopping £10,000 if she chose to trade the counters – and she chose to make the most of her day.

She admitted that her goal was to take her sister to Ghana to celebrate their mother’s 70th birthday and she wanted to bag enough money that the pair could go.

The gamble sees contestants risk all of the money they have won so far and trade it in for three more counters in an attempt to get the star counter to fall into the drop for the jackpot prize of £10,000.

When Ben Shephard asked if she wanted to gamble on her cash, she said: “I’ve got a trip away and a hamper, I’m just thinking I’ll go for it, it was so close.”

As she traded the counters, the first one led her nowhere, but the second one pushed the jackpot close to the edge, leaving the cash in the hands of the third counter.

When Christina pushed it through the machine it fell into the drop and she screamed as she bagged a whopping £10,000.

Ben told her it was the “craziest trade” he had ever seen as it took place, landing Christina the top prize through drop zone four.

When she won her prize, she shared her excitement to be able to go to Ghana with her sister after bagging enough money to afford the getaway to visit their mum.

Christina landed a place in the final with some challenging questions and although she did get multiple answers wrong, she managed to fly right through and land the jackpot.

She started up against three more contestants, Sam, Linda and Kevin, in a bid to win money from the machine.

Taking the lead from the beginning, Christina managed to get £500 in round one, while Linda and Sam came joint second with £350 each – sending Kevin home after building up £150.

Linda left the game at the end of the second round, putting him head to head with Christina where he was up at £1,450 compared to her £1,050.

However, she managed to bring it back and get her a place in the final – and she headed home with a chunk more cash and her holiday to Rome and a hamper.
