Ashton Kutcher says wife Mila Kunis convinced him to sell space ticket

Ashton Kutcher, 43, revealed he was set to travel to space with Virgin Galactic, however his wife Mila Kunis soon changed his mind.

The likes of Sir Richard Branson and Jeff Bezos have recently made a trip to space after both competing over who was going to travel first.

However, it seems Ashton won’t be following suit any time soon.

Speaking to US TV network Cheddar News, the actor said: “When I got married and had kids, my wife basically encouraged [me] that it was not a smart family decision to be heading into space when we have young children.

“So I ended up selling my ticket back to Virgin Galactic.

“I was supposed to be on the next flight.”

However, there was some hope that he could actually fly to space in the future.

He continued: “I will not be on the next flight, but at some point, I’m going to space.”

The former That ’70s Show co-stars got married in 2015 and have two children together, and Kunis clearly thought it best that her hubby stay on planet Earth for the time being.

It comes as Amazon found Jeff Bezos became the second person ever to launch their own rocket into space.

Meanwhile, Virgin owner Sir Richard Branson made the same trip but nine days earlier.

On the day before take-off Jeff told CNN about the precautions he was taking during the flight, he said: “We really believe this flight is safe – I had friends say to me, ‘How about the second flight or the third flight, why do you have to go on the first flight?’ and the point is that we know the vehicle’s safe.

“If the vehicle is not safe for me, it’s not safe for anyone. We have never raced. We have taken this one step at a time, we’re ready.”

Like many childhood dreams, Jeff made it a reality and landed safely back in Texas.

He said: “Oh my God. My expectations were high, and they were dramatically exceeded.

“The zero Gs may have been one of the biggest surprises because it felt so normal.

“It felt like, almost like we were as humans evolved to be in that environment, which I know is impossible, but it felt so serene and peaceful and the floating.

“It’s actually much nicer than being in full one gravity.”
