Katie Price has cancelled her first public appearance since her alleged assault, as it’s been reported the reality TV mogul is “in so much pain”.
The 43-year-old Celebrity MasterChef contestant was due to attend the British LGBT Awards tonight (August 27), which will be hosted by Gok Wan and RuPaul’s Drag Race UK winner Lawrence Chaney.
However, a representative for the star has since confirmed that Katie won’t be attending the event “despite her best intentions” as she is allegedly “in pain” and has decided she isn’t up to going.
A source told The Sun: “Katie is devastated and hates to let people down, but is exhausted and can’t face going out.
“She so badly wanted to go but she’s in so much pain, she just can’t.”
Katie’s withdrawal from the British LGBT Awards follows her receiving hospital treatment for an alleged assault which supposedly took place at a house in Essex in the early hours of Monday morning.
Essex police have since confirmed that a 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault, theft and coercive and controlling behaviour following the incident.
He has since been released on bail pending further investigation.
Katie was hospitalised with a suspected fractured jaw and split lip and has since revealed bruising around her eye.
Of the alleged assault, Katie told The Sun: “I ran away after being punched.
“I’ve got a big bruise, my face is all puffy, and I went to hospital. I’m still all dazed. I’m devastated.”
She added: “I’ve told police that I was assaulted, and am in shock that this happened.
“I ran away after being punched — I ran to Harvey’s house nearby and have now done damage to my feet, which I previously injured.”
