Chrissy Teigen opens up on how her body struggled to recover after tragic miscarriage

Chrissy Teigen has revealed how her body struggled to recover after her tragic pregnancy loss.

Last year, the mum suffered the ultimate heartbreak when she lost her child nearly halfway into her pregnancy – a baby boy who she had already begun calling ‘Jack’.

It came after Chrissy has been preparing for the arrival of the baby boy for months with her husband John Legend.

Now, the 35-year-old star has said that her body became “stuck” after the devastating loss, after bravely opening up about the loss.

Taking to Instagram on Saturday (18 September), the author penned a powerful post about her pregnancy whilst posing in the mirror for a candid snap.

The model was seen sitting on the floor with her legs crossed, apparently wearing no-makeup.

Opening up to her fans, Chrissy wrote: “It’s really weird when you lose a baby and your body gets paused in time. Usually you’d gain your ‘yumyums I’m praaaagnant!’ weight, then put on the weight of your little bebe.

“Then, ideally, you’d have your baby. And you would feed it from your boobs and your body would know to charge through and do what it does to get you back into fighting shape, whatever that may be, for however long it takes (F*** a snap-back)…

“But man. When you lose a baby halfway through, your body just pauses. It has nothing to do. No one to feed.”

Chrissy went on to explain how she struggled as her body became “stuck” with “saggy boobs” and a “belly that was ready to bake”.

She continued:” And you’re just…stuck. Stuck with saggy boobs that were prepping to be milk bags, a belly that was ready to bake. I would be lying if I said this did not majorly suck.

“Not only are you ummmm extremely, diabolically sad at what could have been, but you have this daily reminder every time you look in the godd*mn mirror.

Wrapping up her emotional post, Chrissy said: “I don’t really have a big ending or positive words lol. And don’t say nice things!! I know I know I promise.

“I know it’s not everything and I know i’m suuuuuch a bada** and blah blah blah I just thought I’d be emo for a minute ok! I love you. f*** a scale!”

Last year, Chrissy revealed that she had lost her third child by posting a series of heart-wrenching photos taken at the hospital.

She wrote: “We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before.

“We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough.”

The model had suffered a stillbirth in September – which is when you lose a baby after 24 weeks of pregnancy.

Chrissy went on to write a poignant essay about her experience on Medium, and took up grief counselling and horseback riding for therapy – even ditching alcohol.
