Tom Fletcher has revealed the tense moment he was forced to abort one of his “risky” dance moves with Amy Dowden in Strictly rehearsals.
The McFly star has been competing on Strictly Come Dancing with his professional dancing partner Amy, and the next live show will see the pair dance the Salsa to Watermelon Sugar by Harry Styles.
However, Tom has already been left worrying about accidentally injuring his dance partner as he admitted he “might drop Amy on her head” during the routine.
It seems like Tom’s got his work cut out for him too, because they appeared to have a scare during rehearsals when one of their lifts went wrong.

Taking to Instagram, Tom shared a string of snaps from their grueling training sessions as they prepared for Saturday’s live show (23 October), and at first glance it looked like Amy had suffered a nightmare fall.
The three photos actually showed Amy being carefully lowered to the floor by Tom after one of their tricky lifts went wrong halfway through the move.
Tom explained that Amy had burst out laughing when something happened during the lift, which forced the pair to ditch the move and get her to the ground to avoid her being dropped.

He quickly reassured fans that he didn’t actually drop Amy, adding: “DON’T WORRY, I promise I didn’t actually drop Amy Dowden and this was all very slow and controlled.”
He went on: “Something happened in the lift which gave Amy the giggles (she’s literally laughing whilst upside down in these) and we had to “abort”.
“Learning lifts is a slow, careful process and we have people around to help make sure it’s safe.
“Mostly though, it takes a lot of trust in your partner and I feel very honoured that Amy is trusting me with some pretty tricky and lifts and tricks for our dance on Saturday. Can’t wait to show you…just no laughing Amy.”

Speaking about the routine with Tom in a recent video on Instagram, Amy told fans on Instagram that her and Tom are being “pushed” by the Strictly team.
She said: “We are taking risks this week, aren’t we Tom?
Tom replied: “It is risky,” before he added: “I might drop Amy on her head.”
Amy insisted: “No you won’t, you won’t! But there is a chance, but you won’t!”
