I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here will return to our screens on Sunday, November 21, and with the news that David Ginola will be entering the Welsh castle, his partner has spoken of her worries ahead of his stint.
Model Maëva Denat, 37, is worried that her beau will suffer a fatal heart attack that will leave her to take care of their young daughter alone.
David, 54, was clinically dead for nine minutes after collapsing in 2016, and because of this, his partner has a fear of something happening to him and not returning home to their family in France.
Speaking to The Sun on Sunday, she opened up ahead of David’s I’m A Celeb stint and said: “My biggest fear is he goes away and then something happens. I dread the thought of him not coming home.”
She also explained that as well as it being a fear of hers, it is also David’s biggest fear that he won’t live to see their young daughter grow up.
She explained that although she pushes him to take care of himself, she is always worried about David’s health, “and what if something happens like before?”
Speaking of his lifestyle, she said: “David loves to cook and to eat and can eat three plates of food when you have just one. Like most French people, he likes to drink wine and smoke, but I’ve been trying to get him to stop.”
David had a cardiac arrest after playing a charity football game in the French town of Mandelieu-La Napoule in May 2016, but he is clearly well enough to enter the castle as all contestants must undergo a mandatory medical before the launch show.
Ginola is currently away from his young family, who reside in the south of France, while he quarantines in Wales ahead of the launch of the popular show next weekend.
David will be heading into the castle with fellow celeb campmates like Good Morning Britain’s Richard Madeley and EastEnder’s legend Adam Woodyatt.
