Katie Price's sister rushes to defend star after she avoids jail for drink driving

Katie Price’s sister Sophie has defended her after someone asked if she was “embarrassed” by her driving offenses.

The squabble happened after Katie broke her social media silence after pleading guilty to a number of driving offences.

The former glamour model appeared in front of a judge who said she was “extremely lucky” after crashing her car near her Sussex home while drink-driving.

On Wednesday, she appeared at Crawley Magistrates’ Court and was handed a 16-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months.

The reality star was also ordered to take part in 100 hours of unpaid community work and a two-year driving ban.

After the sentencing on Wednesday, the mum shared an unexpected photo of her teenage son as she broke her silence.

Katie’s sister Sophie commented on the star’s Instagram snap of son Junior, whom she shares with ex-husband Peter Andre.

Sophie posted three blue hearts to the throwback snap which prompted someone to ask: “Aren’t you embarrassed sometimes?”

Answering the troll, Sophie asked what she would be embarrassed about.

The troll replied: “Her being your sister for one.”

“No, actually, I’m not embarrassed!” Sophie responded.

“I have a sibling who’s taken responsibility for her actions…rightly so, and has been extremely honest and open about her mental health,” she added.

Fans were quick to defend the mum-of-five while others trolled Sophie.

However, she did not respond to any other comments.

At Katie’s hearing, District Judge Amanda Kelly told her: “I cannot send you to jail today even though you may deserve to spend Christmas behind bars.

“You are extremely lucky the magistrates on a previous occasion decided to defer their decision.

“When you chose to get behind the wheel that night you showed no concern for others.

“You could have killed somebody. Your actions meant the emergency services had to use up their precious time. You knowingly and deliberately flouted a court order and not for the first time.

“You seem to think you are above the law.”
