Zoe Ball has spoken out about her absence from her BBC Radio 2 slot claiming she is waiting for the results of a PCR test.
The fiery media personality took to Instagram to update her 629,000 followers on her absence from the popular radio show after TV presenter Nicki Chapman took over her slot last week.
“Happy New Year,” she told fans, as it appeared she was running on a treadmill.
“Can’t see below the waistline — so tubby,” Zoe joked.
The mother-of-two continued “Fingers crossed back to Radio 2 Breakfast Show tomorrow 6.30 if my PCR test is all clear.”
Zoe’s guests for Thursday’s show include actress Maxine Peake and horticulturist Monty Don.
The 51-year-old recently opened up about the death of her stepdad in an emotional chat with Gabby Logan about the BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards.
Zoe’s stepdad Rick lost his fight with Motor Neurone Disease in 2012.
“It’s a real special day in my family today,” she said.
“We lost our stepdad Rick to Motor Neurone Disease on this day, quite a few years back now.”
Zoe is one of two siblings to parents Johnny and Julia, who split when she was a toddler.
Her dad is famous in his own right once being a regular fixture on children’s television from the mid 1970s and throughout the 1980s.
Zoe shed light on how former Sports Personality of the Year winner Doddie Weir helped raise over £1 million for Doddie Aid, which aims to find a cure for the horrible disease.
The money would be used to help find a cure for Motor Neurone Disease, which she stressed was a project that was extremely close to her heart.
“Hopefully one day we will find a cure,” the radio personality expressed.
In 2017, Zoe’s life took a tragic turn when her partner Billy Yates took his own life after a long battle with depression.
Three years after his death, Zoe said it was the “hardest thing” she’s ever had to deal with.
She currently wakes up several million listeners every week, making it the biggest breakfast show in the UK.
She moved to the £1.5million countryside home after putting her stunning property in Lewes on the market last year.
Her son Woody has become a reality star in his own right, recently appearing on Celebrity Gogglebox and The Circle.
