Lorraine Kelly replaced by GMB star Ranvir Singh in ITV presenter switch-up

Ranvir Singh has been welcomed onto Lorraine Kelly’s self-titled show to take over hosting duties for the day.

Lorraine, who usually hosts the ITV morning show Monday to Friday (excluding school breaks), left fans shocked as she didn’t appear on the ITV show on Friday morning.

Instead, guest host Ranvir Singh took over hosting duties – a job title she is very comfortable with as she often covers for Lorraine during half terms.

As the show opened up with Ranvir instead of the usual hostess, viewers were quick to question where the Scottish favourite was – but others couldn’t help but fawn over Ranvir’s appearance.

Taking to Twitter, one user wrote: “Where is Lorraine?”, while others were speculating her whereabouts as Ranvir joined the show.

ITV confirmed that Lorraine is currently on a pre-planned day off.

Viewers were incredibly happy to see Ranvir join the line-up on Friday’s show as an influx of tweets showered over her feed.

One person wrote: “Ranvir looks smoking on Lorraine,” while another chirped: “Wow you look incredible this morning on Lorraine.”

A third person chirped: “Well there’s an image to warm up a cold Friday morning @ranvir01.”

Ranvir has previously praised her stints on Lorraine and confessed she loves getting asked to host the show because you can “get under the skin of the people you are interviewing”.

She said: “You’ve got a bit more time and because there’s just one of you doing the interview, you’re able to follow your own trail of thought and where my personal interest lies in that particular person’s story.

“It just means that you have a bit more freedom in a way to have that conversation that you find particularly poignant or interesting and can bring a bit more of myself into.”

She said that she loves doing the show because the stories are more human interest and she can bring out another part of her.

Ranvir explained that the show is a chance for a “lighter touch”.

She has shared her love for the show on Instagram and elsewhere and never fails to praise the hostess herself – but she has made it incredibly clear that she is a huge fan.

Alongside Ranvir, Christine Lampard also occasionally takes over from Lorraine too while she’s on a break.

Lorraine resumes on ITV weekdays at 9am.
