Ulrika Jonsson hits out at Brooklyn Beckham and says he 'doesn't deserve cooking show'

Ulrika Jonsson has claimed Brooklyn Beckham doesn’t deserve his own cooking show.

David and Victoria Beckham’s eldest son launched his own online cooking show Cookin’ With Brooklyn last month, after developing a passion for it in lockdown.

And earlier this week the 22-year-old model featured on James Corden’s Late Late Show where he and the TV host, 43, made steak frites.

But the 54-year-old TV presenter doesn’t reckon Brooklyn deserve to showcase his cooking skills on TV despite admitting he thinks he’s cute.

She told The Sun: “Admittedly he’s as handsome as the day is long. He seems cute and his parents clearly worship him.

“But watching Brooklyn Beckham on The Late Late Show With James Corden in the US cook up a steak and chips with mushy peas because he’d discovered he enjoyed cooking during lockdown tinged me with bitterness.

“My thoughts go to friends and colleagues in the hospitality business who are trained chefs and deserved to have a place at the Corden table, rather than rookie Brooklyn.”

Ulrika also said being a child of internationally famous parents may make it tricky to forge a career away from them without “comparisons being drawn” and “measures, contrasts and observations being made”.

She added while Brooklyn didn’t choose to be born into his family of wealth, “it should also give him a very clear choice”.

Ulrika said while some celebrity children lap up a life in the public spotlight, to those who have “worked hard all our careers while they have never done a day’s work in their young lives” it feels like “a grave injustice” and is “deeply irritating”.

She added she hopes Brooklyn “finds his true calling” and “carves out a nice, proper career for himself”.

The pair chatted as they prepared the dish, including impersonating chef Gordon Ramsay, 55.

Brooklyn also discussed how he will cook his fiancée Nicola Peltz, 27, “whatever she wants” for Valentine’s Day.

After preparing their dishes, James said: “Your steak looks so much better than mine.”

Brooklyn was declared the winner of the head-to-head after both dishes were tasted.”
