I’m A Celeb 'start date revealed after ITV forced to make World Cup schedule shake-up'

The I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! start date has been revealed after ITV were forced to shake up their schedule for the FIFA World Cup.

Last month, it was made public knowledge that the ITV reality show will be aired earlier in the year in order to avoid a clash with the football tournament in November and December.

Now an insider has told the Mirror that the day before Halloween, October 30th, has been scheduled for the next batch of famous faces to enter the ITV camp.

A source previously told The Sun: “Two of ITV’s biggest juggernauts – not just of the season but the whole year – are I’m a Celeb and its international football coverage.

“So it makes sense to keep them apart, and as the World Cup isn’t going to budge, it makes sense to move Ant and Dec.

“The last thing anyone wants is for viewers to have to choose between the latest from the jungle and a big game.

“At the moment nothing has been confirmed – but whatever ITV do will be in the best interests of viewers.”

Last year, Geordie double act Ant and Dec kicked off the show from Wales later than normal on November 21.

However, that is the exact date the Qatar World Cup will start – with football matches going on until the final on 18 December.

However, a spokesperson for I’m A Celeb said: “It’s too early to confirm scheduling for the show.”

Show fans will also be keen to know whether it will be based in Wales or the favourite location Australia this year, which ITV bosses have spoken about.

Rosemary Newell, director of content, said: “We expect a celebrity to return in Australia in November, when it will generate audience over 11 million.”

Ant and Dec also recently revealed their hopes to jet off back to Australia for this year’s series.

Speaking on The One Show, Ant said: “Well, the plan is the jungle, so if all things…” before Dec interjected to say: “Nothing against Wales!”

Ant agreed, saying: “We love Wales but you know, Australia is its home and we’d like to get back there if we can.”
