Alexander Lincoln left Emmerdale last year after playing Jamie Tate since 2018.
The character was thought to be dead before he made a surprise reappearance.
He was involved in a car accident which saw him plunge into a river but police never found a body.
Weeks later, his mum Kim Tate (Claire King) and partner Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) were unsure if he had in fact died.
They are unaware that Jamie is still alive and living with daughter Millie and his late ex-wife Andrea Tate’s mother Hazel.
During Thursday’s (April 7) episode of the ITV soap, Gabby was astounded when she heard Jamie’s daughter Millie talking to her baby brother Thomas about their father.
As Jamie’s return is teased, Daily Star has taken a look into actor Alexander’s life away from the soap.
Fans fury
Alexander left fans fuming last year, with some accusing him of “spoiling storylines”.
Jamie was fleeing the village when he crashed his car into the lake after he tried to answer a call from Gabby.
When the vehicle was pulled out of the water his body was nowhere to be seen.
Viewers were left scratching their heads over where he is as many don’t believe he is dead.
He caused a stir online when he he tweeted that he was back filming in the Dales despite the death cliffhanger.
“Getting back to early starts on set today,”, Alexander penned with a spiral eyes and movie camera emoji.
Fans rushed to their keyboards as the actor seemed to claim Jamie’s fate.
One replied to his post: “Oh no spoiler alert!”
Another added: “I’ve given up on soaps, the actors on socials spoil storylines too often like if they’re leaving etc. What’s the point if you know what’s gonna happen.”
A third fumed: “That’s that storyline spoiled.”
But a fourth pointed out: “Media do spoilers all the time folks, leave Jamie alone else Kim will be after you all Lolz.”
‘Intense’ working hours
Since leaving Emmerdale last year, Alexander has opened about the soap’s long working sessions.
“Soap actors do get a really bad rap but it is one of the most intense jobs I think you can do,” he insisted during an interview with Entertainment Focus.
“It is 10/11 hours a day. I shot 19 scenes one day, which is insane!”
Alexander also admitted that he’d home with anxiety over the workload.
He explained: “Every evening you’re learning lines and you’re anxious about the next day.”
Comparing his experience to working on other channels, he added: “I did this thing recently for the BBC and they would shoot maybe two or three scenes a day, so comparatively, you’re like, ‘oh my god, that’s amazing!’.”
Romance rumours
The soap hunk has reportedly found love with a stunning brunette.
Appearing in a loved-up snaps with a glamorous lady, Alexander has been tagged in multiple photographs with Shar Holliday.
Last year, she shared a snap of herself and Alexander enjoying a boat trip while in Croatia.
The couple have also been seen enjoying a trip in the Lake District.
Hunky snaps
Alexander wowed fans earlier this year as he stripped off for a bubble snap.
The actor was clearly pining for the luxurious hotel tub on Instagram as he shared a throwback snap with fans.
He wrote: “God I wish I had a lavish Jacuzzi-bath again. In the shower your wine glass just fills up with water…”
His followers made their thoughts very clear, with one commenting: “Something just really makes me want to dive in there.”
Another posted: “Dear god.”
As a third said: “Oh my life!!! Move over.”
Movie role
Alexander has landed a powerful role in new LGBTQI+ film In From the Side.
The film follows an affair between two men who play for the same rugby team.
He recently has spoken about how he sees the London-based film.
“It’s about raw lust, throwing caution to the wind, not really thinking about other people’s feelings and having it all blow up in your face,” Alexander explained.
“I think everyone can relate to that, whether you’ve had an affair or not.
“[It] isn’t about the hardships of coming out or feeling like an outsider, the LGBTQI+ aspect of it is there, but it isn’t: ‘Oh wow, they’re gay and they play rugby.’
“The film is mostly about camaraderie, teamwork and the relationships that develop in sports teams.”
Return claims
Emmerdale fans have been convinced that Jamie is set to return to the village ever since Millie was caught speaking to baby Thomas about their dad.
While it’s yet to be confirmed if Alexander is set to reprise the role, some have taken to social media to share their predictions.
One viewer tweeted: “Think Jamie Tate is about to pop up again!”
