Phillip Schofield has revealed he’s deleted the Twitter app from his phone.
The 60-year-old presenter was back on our screens on Tuesday (April 26) to present This Morning alongside Holly Willoughby.
During the latest instalment of the ITV daytime show, Phillip revealed that he no long has the application on his mobile because he wants “no part of it” in his life.
He joined Twitter back in 2009 and boats 4.4million followers on the micro-blogging site.
Phillip’s account remains active despite him branding the social media platform “a cesspit” and pointed out that there are “vile and disgusting” trolls online.
Discussing Elon Musk buying Twitter, and the suggestion that all users may have to be verified, Phillip said: “There’s the side of the argument where, if you’re gonna say something, make sure you can back it up with your own name.
“If that isn’t the case, then it could become even more of a cesspit than it already is. I’ve deleted it off my phone. And I’ll quite openly say that.
“‘Because, there is a section that is wonderful and magnificent and funny and informative, and there is a section that is vile and disgusting and I want no part of it in my life.”
Vanessa Feltz added: “Well I’ve never been anywhere near it.
“I’ve never even looked at it and the reason why is that I just don’t think I have a strong enough constitution.”
“I would detest it, quite frankly. I’d be scared and I’d be horrified… I don’t wanna get embroiled in it at all.”
Phillip hasn’t posted on Twitter in months and his last tweet was sent in December last year.
The ITV star is active on Instagram, where he boats 3million followers, but has comments on his photographs turned off.
It comes after Phillip told off Holly for breaking the “number one presenting rule” on This Morning.

After the show returned from an advert break during Monday (April 25) show, Holly suddenly burst out laughing.
She then admitted her blunder, saying: “I was actually just watching us on the monitor, then I was like ‘Oh my God I’m watching and we’re actually on’.”
Phillip gave her a stern look and a scolding, saying: “You can’t watch the telly if you’re on it.”
Holly exclaimed: “I know! Rule number one of the presenting handbook, I’m sorry.”
Phil then then gasped “wow” as Holly laughed it off.
She said “Happy Monday!” before continuing to present the programme.
This Morning airs weekdays on ITV at 10am
