Naga Munchetty erupted during the latest edition of BBC Breakfast when she demanded that her co-host Charlie Stayt returned to the studio, with one fan even branding her a “diva”.
Charlie had left the studio on Saturday (May 14) for a short period of time to chat to a guest about the new E-Bike Loan Scheme.
Olympic gold medallist and cycling and walking commissioner for England Chris Boardman joined Charlie outside the studio at Salford Quays.
The pair were on bikes as they chatted about the new scheme, that Charlie was very much in favour of.
After the pair had spoken about the new scheme, Charlie turned to Chris and said: “Shall we tootle off, and I don’t know, go and get a coffee or something?”
Naga was fuming and couldn’t contain her emotions – clearly very unimpressed by her co-host’s behaviour.
“Uh, no, Mr Stayt,” she fumed over the top of images of Charlie and Chris cycling away from the camera.
“No, Mr Stayt you are due back in the studio,” she added while sounded even more angry.
“He’s ignoring me, again. Again, ignoring me.
“Can someone just go out and get him please?” she fumed.
“Look, look at that. It’s ridiculous,” she said as the pair rode off into the sunshine.
“Seriously, we’ve got an hour and a half of broadcasting left to do.
“Can someone go out and get hime? I’m gonna get someone out to bring Mr Stayt back to the studio.
“He will be back, trust me,” she warned viewers.
Viewers at home were quick to pick up on Naga’s “meltdown” with one taking to Twitter to pen: “Naga Munchetty having a right old diva style meltdown #bbcbreakfast.”
Someone made a joke about Charlie and penned: “When Charlie takes off his cycle helmet, how long will it take to readjust his hair? #bbcbreakfast.”
While another added: “Well it will take an hour in makeup for Charlie to get his hair sorted after the helmet wearing. #BBCBreakfast.”
BBC Breakfast airs daily on BBC One at 6am
