Mark Owen has joked that he put his children off crop tops by showing them a picture of him sporting one.
The Take That singer said that when the tummy-baring tops came back into style a while ago his two daughters Willow, 13, and Fox, nine, wanted them.
They tried to talk Mark into getting the tops but giving them a look at him flashing his abs in one of the short, skimpy numbers did the trick.
The star told Metro: “The crop tops came back a few years ago and when the girls were trying to convince me that they should have one, I showed them a picture of dad in his crop top.
“I think I put them off! I think I might have put them off crop tops.”
The hitmaker is married to actress Emma Ferguson, who is known for TV shows such as North And South and Mile High.
As well as Willow and Fox, the couple are parents to son Elwood.
Mark, 50, told the paper he doesn’t really know if any of his brood will end up following in his footsteps and pursuing music careers.
However, his two girls have taken a small step into the music industry as they do feature on his new album Land Of Dreams.
Mark said that his son, who is 15, chose not to be on the record because he is more interested in skateboarding than making music right now.
“It’s really nice having the girls on there,” he said.
“When I hear those songs, it really makes me smile, so I’m really pleased.”
Land Of Dreams is due to be unveiled in September this year.
