Love Island fans baffled as they clock Luca sipping from 'empty glass' on Danica date

Love Island viewers were left distracted during the latest edition of the ITV2 dating show as Luca Bish and Danica Taylor enjoyed a cosy date.

Bombshell Danica sent the villa into meltdown during Sunday’s dramatic episode as she picked to couple up with Luca.

Fans of the show will know that Luca has been growing close to Gemma Owen and the pair were left gobsmacked when Danica decided to tear them apart at the latest recoupling.

As Luca was now taken, Gemma decided to couple up with her former partner Davide Sanclimenti.

Later in the episode, a text was sent to the villa informing them that Danica and Luca were to go on their first date.

The pair got dressed in “unplanned” matching blue outfits and headed to the beach.

After settling down on a picnic setup on the sand, Danica passed Luca the bottle of bubbly.

The dancer said: “So I’ll let you do the honours.”

Luca replied: “Don’t drink but i’ll open it for you” before adding: “Unreal isn’t it just being out.”

Danica: “Yeah definitely.”

After Luca managed to pop the cork, Danica passed over flute for him to pour some fizz.

The pair said “cheers” and clinked each others flutes but eagle-eyed viewers noticed that Luca still appeared to take a sip despite his glass being “empty”.

Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: “Luca said cheers then drank out of an empty flute.”

A second person pointed out: “It’s very bad luck to cheers with an empty glass Luca.”

Another added: “Why did Luca cheers and ‘drink’ a clearly empty glass???”

While a fourth social media user asked: “Why did Luca just take a sip out of an empty glass?”

Despite going on a date, Luca decided to not share a bed with Danica later in the evening.

As the Islanders prepared to go to sleep, Luca chose not to join Danica but instead use the spare bed in the living room area.

However, Gemma decided to share the same bed as Davide.

Fans will have to wait and see if Gemma and Luca will remain interested in each other.

Love Island airs nightly on ITV2 and ITV Hub at 9pm
