Soap star Robyn Griggs dies as family confirm she's 'no longer suffering'

Another World and Life To Live star Robyn Griggs’ family have confirmed that the actress has sadly died at the age of 49.

The American soap star, who is best known for her roles in Another World and One Life To Live, had been diagnosed with stage four cervical cancer two years ago.

While the actress had been diagnosed with the tragic illness in 2020, Robyn’s cause of death has not yet been confirmed.

An emotional statement to announce her death was delivered on Robyn’s official Facebook page on Saturday 13 August.

Robyn’s loved one’s confirmed her sad passing

An unknown friend of Robyn’s confirmed the sad news in a heartfelt post that read: “Hi everyone, With a heavy heart, I am saddened to announce Robyn’s passing.

“However, she is no longer suffering and would want us to remember that and the good memories.

“I will never forget how open she was to telling her story, and accepting of me helping her tell it.”

Robyn was moved to hospice care just days before her death

They added: “She wanted to help people and spread the word of her story to do it.

“I was honoured to do so. RIP my friend, I love you and smile when I think of you.”

Last month, Robyn confirmed to fans that she had developed four further tumours as she updated fans on her health situation.

Robyn told fans that doctors had discovered four new tumours

Addressing fans, she said: “I have four new tumours.

“Two new tumours on my liver, one on abdominal muscle and large one on right side lymph node.”

In another post that was shared to her own platform on July 7, she explained: “So in pain and I go to chemo Monday am.

“I told them whatever it takes, I’m in for the fight.”

The film star and actress was moved into hospice care just two days before her death had been announced.
