Portrayed by famous musician Omar Lye-Fook, the character died last month shortly after revealing his terminal cancer diagnosis to his brother Mitch following a sudden collapse.
Alongside his brother Felix, who performs under the drag name Tara Misu, Finlay look set to stick around Albert Square.
Having grown close to Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton), Finlay’s relationship with his uncle looks set to be tested as the brothers attempt to set up their own business in Walford.
But, where have viewers seen Finlay actor Ashley Byam before?
Prior to his soap debut, Ashley landed his first big onscreen role in 2015, starring alongside Tom Hardy in the Kray Twins biopic Legend.
A year later, he was cast alongside blockbuster names in The Legend of Tarzan.
Directed by Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts filmmaker David Yates, the movie starred Alexander Skarsgård, Margot Robbie, Samuel L. Jackson and Christoph Waltz.
Ashley portrayed the role of Kasai.
The Legend of Tarzan follows an acclimatised Tarzan (Skarsgård) who returns from his new life in London to his former home in the Congo in order to investigate a mining encampment in the jungle.
Joined by his partner Jane (Robbie), the pair find themselves tied up in a dangerous plot organised by Captain Leon Rom (Waltz).
The film also starred Jim Broadbent and John Hurt.
