Melissa Suffield left EastEnders in 2010 after joining the soap in 2004, and now the former BBC One star turned body confident mum-of-one has broken her silence on a potential return to soap land.
Fans know that Lucy Beale, played by Hetti Bywater at the time. appeared back on the soap as a ghost back in 2019 as she tormented her killer brother Bobby Beale.
Not keen on heading back to Albert Square to reprise the ghost of Lucy Beale 12 years on, or going back soap land full stop, Melissa exclusively told Daily Star that she has “shut a door” on soap opera acting.
Sitting down with us for a tell-all chat about her soap career and U-turn into parenting and body confidence blogging and online content – Melissa opened up to us about whether or not she plans on acting again.

She told us that she “wouldn’t change” her acting career, but doesn’t think she’ll head back into soap operas again.
“I wouldn’t change it for the world, but I also wouldn’t be looking to do it again in the future,” she told us.
“That part of my life, soap opera acting or working at that continuous speed. That’s a part of my life that I’ve experienced and done and shut a door on,” Melissa revealed.
She continued: “And I’ll open a different door, you know what I mean? Yeah, I know where the different pace. A hundred percent but I think that’s pretty much it.”
She did say however that she would “never say never” about a return to acting in general.
Adding: “Right now? No. Because I physically, like I don’t even know how I would do it.
“When it comes to childcare, I have no idea how the logistics of that would even work.”
Melissa added that she “genuinely doesn’t know” how she would do acting and feels as though it “isn’t an achievable goal” for her right now.
“But that doesn’t mean that it won’t be in the future,” she divulged.
And although Melissa said she misses acting “to a degree” she feels “really fulfilled” by the work she does on social media – where she inspires women and mums under the name The Confident Mama.
Elsewhere in our chat Melissa told us that she rules out the idea of ever joining X-rated subscription site OnlyFans.
“Absolutely power to the people that do it,” Melissa explained to us, adding that she is “totally on board” with people on sites like OnlyFans.
She explained: “It’s just not for me, mainly because I don’t want to charge people for my content,” she revealed.
“I don’t want people to pay to learn confidence.”
