EastEnders fans 'work out' DCI Keeble's true identity as bosses confirm major twist

EastEnders fans are sure they’ve figured out who DCI Keeble really is, after soap bosses confirmed a “surprise reveal” is on the way.

As excitement builds for the upcoming flashback surrounding the Mitchell family, bosses revealed there would be a big “surprise” in store.

Now, fans reckon that reveal could be to do with DCI Keeble’s real identity – and they seem sure that she’s actually Phil Mitchell’s sister.

In current episodes, DCI Keeble has been seen to be a bit obsessed with the Mitchell family, going for them when she can.

And fans now think that might be because she’s actually related to them, with one person saying: “OK Keeble is definitely Phil’s sister. I’m sticking with it.”

Another tweeted: “She’s his sister, the first Samantha.”

A third wrote: “The only affair that would fit with Keeble being Eric’s daughter would be the one with Maureen Loftus, it ended in 1969. Keeble is likely 52-54, as Alison Newman is 54 in real life.”

And a fourth said: “The fact that Keeble ends up being Phil’s sister, what will he do with such a revelation?”

The flashback episode is linked to what is happening in the soap in the present day, with Keeble pushing Phil to become a police informant.

And it seems fans will soon find out exactly what Keeble’s vendetta with the family really is.

EastEnders’ executive producer Chris Clenshaw told Daily Star and other press: “Family is going to be at the centre of the show – starting with the Mitchells.

“Of course, Phil has his battle with Keeble, and what we will soon learn is the reason she has this real personal vendetta against the family, as we find out more about the clan before they hop-footed across East London to Walford.”

Chris said that the flashback episode will explore why Phil is the way he is, and it originally started as a flashback scene.

He said: “The show’s about family and you’ve got the Mitchells with these iconic characters.

“It grew from a scene into an episode with iconic characters such as Peggy Mitchell, who is arguably the greatest matriarch in soap.”

Jaime Winstone will play Peggy in the flashback episode, after previously playing her real-life counterpart, the late actress Dame Barbara Windsor, in the 2017 BBC biopic Babs.
