Coronation Street newcomer Michael Condron has joined the ITV cobbles as Spider’s pal Griff – but, as with every Weatherfield newbie, he could be hiding a shocking secret.
As the friend of eco-warrior Spider, Griff is seen rallying a crowd of protesters, leaving Spider watching on in horror as he pulls out a glass bottle and hurls it through the crowd, whacking Craig on the head.
Griff is quickly arrested, but a fight soon ensues, seeing Toyah Battersby caught in the fray.

But what about Michael’s life off-screen?
From finding fame in Game of Thrones to a job at ASDA, we have all the goss.
Game of Thrones fame
Canadian-born Michael first found fame in period drama The Tudors before moving on to HBO’s epic Game of Thrones.
He played Bowen Marsh from series five, the First Steward of the Night’s Watch, and eventually left the show in series six after appearing in a total of ten episodes.
Bowen clashed with Kit Harrington’s character Jon Snow after opposing his promotion to Lord Commander, and shocked viewers saw him stab Jon and leave him for dead in a mutiny gone wrong.
His character was finally killed off in series six, hanged for his violent crime.
Lookalike son
Michael dazzled his fans on Instagram as he posed alongside his lookalike son – with plenty remarking that they look “the same age”.
Posing together in a bar called Henry’s, Michael opted for a white t-shirt, while his son wowed in a black long-sleeved polo shirt.
Michael joked in his caption: “When your son upstages your best attempts.”
And fans quickly rushed to comment, with one penning: “Jesus, you two could be the same age!” as another gushed: “Beautiful picture of you both. I remember your son being born!”
“Looking good lads!” someone else praised.
ASDA job
Though he’s well used to living the Hollywood lifestyle, Michael isn’t above a bit of hard graft, as he took on a position as a delivery driver for ASDA during the Covid-19 pandemic.
He admitted he “absolutely loved” his job as a key worker, heading out to deliver essential items to vulnerable customers.
The star said back in 2020: “Every single person has a role to play in these times. People now should really appreciate the hard work that everybody does – I think people who work in supermarkets have often been taken for granted.”
Michael went on: “A friend of mine said Asda were looking for people to work there so I got in touch. I came down, got a job and I absolutely love it.
“The job means I can continue to have that interaction with people like I get in a theatre. It’s kept me mentally in a good place and it continues to do so.
“I’ve been having a brilliant time meeting people I’ve never met before. I do about 17 to 18 calls a day when I’m working, so I’ve been getting to know lots of different people. Some of them have come to be regular customers too – it’s nice to have a rapport with them.
“Some of the elderly people I see haven’t been able to get out of their homes due to the lockdown and they just want to talk.”
He added that he’s thinking of “writing a play” about his experiences with the supermarket.

Though he’s taken on a huge variety of more serious roles, Michael also knows what it’s like to appear in a more comedic project.
Namely, he starred as the Hoff Show director in Keith Lemon: The Film, appearing on set alongside Celebrity Juice star Leigh Francis.
He’s also starred in Hollywood blockbuster High Rise, based on the novel by J. G. Ballard, and in seven episodes of Soft Border Patrol.
Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday on ITV at 8pm
