EastEnders fans have finally found out why DCI Keeble has a vendetta against the Mitchells.
The BBC soap aired an explosive flashback episode on Monday night (September 5) which revealed the link between Keeble (Alison Newman) and the troublesome Mitchell family.
The DCI has been desperate for Phil (Steve McFadden) to grass on his cousin Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) and told him she wanted to check Billy off her list next.

Keeble recently struck a deal with Phil to secure his release from prison as the hard-man has become an informant for her, but he’s suspicious of the cop and has been trying to unearth her ulterior motive.
The flashback episode opened in the present day, with Keeble urging Phil to dish on his family member.
Phil asked: “He’s family; he’s a Mitchell. Why are you doing this to me?” before the screen faded to black and viewers were transported to the 1970s with younger versions of Phil’s famous family.
It appears Phil’s father Eric (George Russo) shot and killed Keeble’s father on one of his criminal outings with a younger Phil (Daniel Delaney), his brother Grant (Teddy Jay) and Billy (Kieron McCarron).
The gang took part in a robbery, but all hell broke loose when they were found by a security guard, who happened to be the DCI’s murdered dad.
Eric ordered Phil to shoot the guard, but he refused so Eric decided to do the dirty deed himself, shooting the guard dead when the others left.
An emotional scene that followed showed a young girl and her mum given the news that the security guard had been killed.
It turns out the girl, who could be seen clutching a teddy bear, was DCI Keeble herself.
In the present day, Keeble warned Phil (Steve McFadden) that if he didn’t dish the dirt on Billy, he’d back behind bars.
She later explained how the robbery related to her dad as she said: “He was involved in a robbery. A security guy was murdered. His name was Keeble too.”
The cop warned him: “Dish the dirt or face the consequences.”
