Emmerdale Jamie Tate stars now – Amanda Holden link, 'retiring' and return rumours

Kim Tate makes a shocking discovery in Emmerdale tonight (September 13), when she finds out that her son Jamie Tate is alive.

Although many of the dales residents believe that Jamie is dead following a car accident last year, viewers, as well as Gabby Thomas and Dawn and Will Taylor, all know that he is alive.

With Kim’s upcoming nuptials to Will taking place next month, how will this secret affect their relationship?

And will Jamie return for the wedding?

As viewers wait to see what will happen next, Daily Star takes a look at where the actors who have played Jamie Tate are now.

Jake Meays and Elliot Suckley (1996)

Two actors shared the role of baby Jamie Tate, following his birth in the soap in 1996.

Jake Meays played Jamie for one year, before taking on the role of baby Alfie Goddard in beloved ITV drama Where The Heart Is, where his mum was played by Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden.

The role was alternated with Elliot Suckley, who also played baby Jamie for one year in the soap.

However unlike Jake, this was Elliot’s only credited acting role.

According to the Internet Movie Data Base (IMDB), Jake Meays and Elliot Suckley have had no further credited roles and appear to have retired from acting.

It is also not known where the two child stars are now, or what careers they have embarked upon since.

Sam Silson and Oliver Carroll (1997)

Two more child actors took over the role of baby Jamie Tate in 1997, including Sam Silson.

However, it is reported that Jamie is Sam Silson’s only acting role, with the star appearing to have also retired from performing.

Similarly, Oliver Carroll who shared the role with Sam appears to have retired from acting too, with Emmerdale his only TV credit.

Like Jake Meays and Elliot Suckley before them, not much is known about where Sam Silson and Oliver Carroll are now.

Bradley White (1998-1999)

In just two short years, no less than five actors played Jamie Tate in Emmerdale, including Bradley White.

Bradley was the longest remaining Jamie child star, playing the role for more than two years between 1998 and 1999.

It seems that all of the child Jamie Tate stars have retired from acting, as Emmerdale is Bradley’s only credited TV role and it is not known where the star is now.

Alexander Lincoln (2019-2021)

After more than 20 years away from the dales, a now grown Jamie Tate returned to the village – causing some serious drama in the process.

Heartthrob Alexander Lincoln took on the role, after making his acting debut in a number of productions including Degenerates and As I Am.

Although he departed Emmerdale in 2021, after his character supposedly died in a car crash, Alex has kept busy with a number of acting roles in TV series including Everything I Know About Love, along with the film In From The Side.

Reflecting on his time on Emmerdale, he told Leeds Live: “Soap actors do get a really bad rap but it is one of the most intense jobs I think you can do with acting.

“It is 10 and 11 hours a day. I shot 19 scenes one day, which is insane.

“I did this thing recently for the BBC and they would shoot maybe two or three scenes a day, so comparatively, you’re like, ‘oh my god, that’s amazing!”

He is soon due to appear in a number of films currently in production, including The Fence and Aurora.

However, fans think that the actor will return to Emmerdale for the soap’s 50th anniversary, as the truth about Jamie’s death is revealed.

Taking to social media, one fan said: “While we all want Joe Tate back in Emmerdale I feel like the 50th anniversary could be a good time, and maybe he helps kill Kim?”

A second said: “Jamie’s supposed to come back anyway so maybe Joe is in on it and helps take her down at her wedding?! I just want him back in my life okay!” followed by a row of crying emojis.

Away from the limelight, Alexander gives fans a sweet glimpse into his, which includes his love of travelling and hiking.

The star also sparked romance rumours, after he shared a number of sweet snaps on Instagram last year with brunette beauty Shar Holliday, while enjoying trips to Croatia and the Lake District.

However, the star tends to keep his personal life private and has not commented on whether he is single or in a relationship.
