Ali Bastian was left filled with anxiety when her daughter Isla, 2, was left needing urgent hospital treatment following a horrific allergic reaction.
The former Strictly Come Dancing contestant, the 40-year-old star explained that her little one went into a “systematic shutdown” due to the severities of her allergies.
As a baby, the soon-to-be big sister was diagnosed with several allergies and cannot eat anything containing dairy, eggs, nuts, peanuts or sesame.

When she was just several months old, Ali explained that she and her husband David O’Mahony had a “terrifying” experience with the youngster.
Speaking to OK! Magazine, the ex-Hollyoaks actress said: “Anaphylaxis can look different for different people.
“With Isla, she had a systemic shutdown and went blue and floppy, she was so tiny, it was awful.
“Allergies are life-changing and become a lesson in managing your anxiety, Isla has outgrown her wheat allergy, which feels like a huge win.”
The star continued: “When she had an allergic reaction to sesame, the paediatrician advised to stop weening her for a bit and just breastfeed her.
“I breastfed Isla until I was three months pregnant, I don’t think I’ve ever had such mixed emotions about anything, it feels great that you can do it, but you also feel shattered.”
The actress is also expecting her second child with David and shared the news with an adorable set of photographs.
Discussing breastfeeding, Ali told her Instagram followers: “Breastfeeding a toddler – ‘You’re STILL feeding a two-year-old!?’ Heard that one once or twice!
“Lovely @tandbelle recently asked me how I find breastfeeding a toddler. I didn’t know how to reply. I’m not sure I’ve ever felt as ambivalent about anything! I love it, I’m exhausted and depleted by it.
“At times breastfeeding feels like the most precious moments of peace and connection at other times, I feel averse to it, almost enraged by how much my own needs take a back seat at 4am… whilst being simultaneously completely attached to it.”
The former actress who played PC Sally Armstrong in ITV’s The Bill has kept in contact with her former Hollyoaks-co-stars and recently enjoyed a day with Carly Stenson.
She admitted that her family had previously been unable to travel due to Isla’s severe allergies.
Speaking to her Instagram followers, she said: “We really haven’t ventured far before with Isla’s allergies but our little family is gaining confidence all the time and loving mini adventures!”
