Coronation Street's Leo 'still alive' as fans twig unexpected Stephen plot twist

Coronation Street fans have been speculating over whether Leo is still alive after recent scenes showed him being dragged into a van by Stephen.

Throughout the episode, Leo pursued Stephen and tried to find out more about his master plan.

The pair eventually found themselves up on the factory roof where Leo confronted Stephen over his actions, but the situation quickly escalated after Stephen went over the railings and landed in a large bin.

Stephen was shown looking down in horror as he saw what had happened and the rest of the episode was spent showing Stephen attempting to avoid getting caught.

He was nearly ambushed multiple times and the police were even called to the factory after Stephen accidentally set the alarm off.

Leo and Stephen’s altercation on the roof ended in disaster

Although the police got scarily close to the scene of the crime – one even put a plastic bottle into the bin where Leo’s body sat – Stephen managed to get away with the deed, even if a few suspecting villagers questioned him on his unusual behaviour.

However, viewers at home knew exactly what Stephen was trying to cover up and didn’t let him off the hook so easily.

Some even began to speculate as to whether Leo was still alive as it was “only a six foot drop” and he had landed on some rubbish that looked particularly soft.

Stephen spent the entire episode trying to avoid getting caught

One fan wrote: “I think Leo is alive, the bin bags have broken his fall and he only bumped his head, he’s just been knocked out a bit. Just a theory, lol,” and signed off with laughing face emojis.

Another simply added: “He’s still alive?!”

A keen fan also tweeted out: “Aw, I was hoping Leo was still alive.”

Some Corrie followers also spotted a flaw in Stephen’s cover-up attempt and pointed out that the bin area must “have CCTV”.

More Twitter fans were keen to join in the conversation and many complained that the soap had “just ended one very long murder story” only for them to “start another on the same night”.

One disgruntled viewer complained that the “murder storyline” will “go on for months before he is caught,” and wondered what it would be like if “the Corrie police actually solved a crime for a change”.
