TV legend Tess Daly is arguably the golden girl of Saturday night television – and Sunday nights too.
Stockport-born Tess started her TV presenting career in 2001, and has since hosted hit shows from Sport Relief to SMTV Live to Strictly Come Dancing.
She began presenting the popular dancing show on BBC One in 2004 alongside Bruce Forsyth and now Claudia Winkleman, which sees her entertain huge audiences (frequently over 10 million).

However, there’s a lot more to the star who’s kept herself very busy since breaking out on the scene back in 2001 – alongside raising two children, 17-year-old Phoebe and 13-year-old Amber, with hubby Vernon Kay.
The 53-year-old star even has a few acting nods under her belt, including a stint on EastEnders.
Model beginnings
Prior to her successful television career, Tess started off as a model after being scouted outside of a McDonald’s restaurant with her sister Karen in Manchester.
Tess, who’s birth name is actually Helen Daly, had to change her name due to another model already having the same one.
And six weeks after turning 18, she landed her first professional modelling job in Tokyo – and continued to be a part of many successful projects.
Duran Duran fame
Television personality Tess found further fame in 1990, when she starred in the music video for new wave band Duran Duran’s single Serious, from their album Liberty.
In the music video, blonde Tess can be seen in a variety of stunning looks including little black dresses.
She can also be seen singing along to Serious, behind members including Nick Rhodes.
‘Cringe’ music video
Not content with popping up Duran Duran videos, Tess also featured in the Sweet Harmony music video for electro dance band The Beloved in 1999.
The TV presenter was one of many models who stripped off for the steamy video.
However, back in 2016, Tess opened up about how she’s haunted over those sexy scenes.
Speaking to Daily Mail, she said: “I cringe when I’m reminded of the video for The Beloved’s track Sweet Harmony.
“It was a studio of models with nothing but Elastoplast to protect our modesty.”
Walford beauty
In 2014, Tess appeared on BBC One soap EastEnders.
According to IMBD, she played a pink lady during a guest appearance on the long-running show.
That same year, saw Tess’ co-host Sir Bruce make his departure from Strictly’s Come Dancing.
The TV veteran announced he was stepping down from his hosting duties in 2014, in which rumours started to circle that he was in poor health.
In 2017, Sir Bruce sadly passed away of bronchial pneumonia at his Wentworth Estate home in Virginia Water, aged 89.
