BBC Breakfast host Naga Munchetty jokingly expressed her annoyance after she received a very obvious snub from one special Downing Street resident.
Naga was on location outside Number 10 as she fumed to her co-star Charlie Stayt about the incident.
She began: “Charlie, good morning to you. We saw Larry the cat here and he’s quite aloof […] there are lots of people coming in and out [of Downing Street] so I have extra admiration for you, Charlie, as you actually managed to get a little stroke with him. He’s completely ignored all of us here!”

Stayt smirked sheepishly before he explained: “Yes, when I was down there – that was the time of Boris Johnson’s resignation, of course – there was some dismay among the rival teams from various networks because he came walking over and, of course, came straight over to the BBC Breakfast team.”
Charlie went on to say that Larry “walked away from everyone else” but he had “come straight over to them,” which they “took as a sign”.
Mike Bushell was also with Charlie in the studio and wondered “what he had been wearing that day” as he “likes Naga’s outfit” but feared it may have been “quite loud and bold” which “may have been too much for Larry”.
Naga was wearing a smart jacket in a bright pink colour and Bushell saw the opportunity to tease his colleague a little.
The reporter recently opened up on an experience she had during the early days in her career which left quite an impression on her.
Munchetty spoke to Radio Times and recalled that she began her journalism career in newspapers.
She said that she was branded “bl**** useless” and “went home many a day in tears”.
However, she used the situation to her advantage and “learned not to make mistakes,” especially ones that “aren’t acceptable”.
Naga admitted that “the fear of making a mistake meant that she did her research twice” and always tried to deliver “to the best of her ability”.
Although it was difficult, she credited the early days of her journalism career to making her into the legendary reporter she is today.
