I'm A Celeb's Matt Hancock admits 'absolutely s****ing myself' during snake trial

Matt Hancock has admitted he was “absolutely s****ing myself” during the House of Horrors trial on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!.

The former health secretary has already been voted to do four Bushtucker trials since he entered camp last Wednesday (November 9) – and now he’s onto his fifth.

But it seems the MP was rather frightened by the House of Horrors trial on Sunday night (November 13), which saw him crawl around in a giant dolls house in search for stars.

Hancock had to face snakes, spiders, pigeons and a whopping 2.5million flies during the rummaging trial, where one snake tried to strike the politician.

It came after Matt was stung by a scorpion, leading him to tell hosts Ant and Dec: “I’ve had quite a full on morning as I got stung by a scorpion. It was unbelievably painful.”

Dec asked Matt: “So it was a scorpion in camp?”, to which the MP replied: “Yeah. It was really painful – it still hurts! But they say the smaller scorpions they just hurt, they don’t kill you.”

But it seems snakes were Matt’s latest enemy as he was faced with them in the final room, causing the MP to cry: “Snakes, you know that I don’t like snakes. Oh my goodness, that’s alive!”

Matt struggled to get his next star after one snake had a pop at the politician, but he ended up managing to bag 9 out of 11 stars.

Matt said: “That was no easy [task]… look at those snakes.”

He added: “I’m really, really happy with the one I got off the bed as it had snakes wrapped around it. I just went in very carefully.

“I’m happy with 9, it’s not quite ‘nailed it 11’. It’s enough food for Owen and everyone else.”

After revealing the result to camp, Matt said: “Everybody lit up and cheered, it was brilliant.”

Comedian Seann Walsh said in the Bush Telegraph: “That must have been terrifying for Matt. A snake [at] eye level.”

Matt told camp: “I was absolutely s***ting myself.”

Babatúndé Aléshé in the Bush Telegraph added: “I’ve just got to big him up man, he’s really stepping up to each and every Trial.”

Before the trial, campmate Scarlette Douglas told him: “If you can do the House of Commons you can do the House of Horrors.”
