Strictly Come Dancing star Helen Skelton could lose out in this weekend’s final of the ballroom contest despite being a fan favourite, a dance expert has claimed.
The Countryfile presenter, 39, is one of four celebs competing for the coveted Glitterball trophy in the series final on Saturday (December 17).
However, according to Dr Jill Rose Jacobs, she will be going home empty-handed, as Fleur East will snatch the ballroom honours.

Dr Jill completed her PhD in Music focusing on Dance and Sports Science at Queen’s University, Belfast, and was previously a professor of dance at New York University.

She told Heart Bingo: “Based on dancing merit, Fleur and Hamza won the semi-final,” adding: “Helen and Molly also had their moments where they performed like professional dancers.”
Dr Jill said she was a fan of Fleur, and struggled to understand how she was a regular in the dance-offs, saying: “In fact, my vote goes to Fleur East for the Glitterball trophy.”
However, Jayde Adams – who with her pro dance partner Karen Hauer were booted off Strictly after judges decided to save Molly Rainford and Carlos Gu – backed Helen’s new-found confidence prompted by her appearances on the show.

Helen has revealed it has been “wonderfully liberating to be happy in my own skin” while starring on Strictly following her break-up from husband of eight years Richie Myler.
Jayde said on social media: “Before Strictly Helen was the second woman only to finish 78-mile Namibian ultra marathon 23h 45s.
“Kayaked the Amazon, tightroped 150m over Battersea Power Station, cycled to the South Pole, TV, radio, sports career & had three babies, one she birthed herself. Not confident? HAHAHAHA.”
