Naga Munchetty forced to halt BBC Breakfast live interview as animal interrupts chat

Naga and Charlie also chatted to The Repair Shop’s Amanda Middleditch and Julie Tatchell about their role as the Teddy Bear Ladies on the BBC series.

The vintage bears and soft toys experts don’t appear on screen as regularly as the other restorers on the show, but the pair have made a number of appearances since the show began in 2017.

Appearing via a video link, Amanda and Julie discussed The Repair Shop’s upcoming Christmas special but things took a festive turn as a robin flew into the barn.

Julie said she was “distracted” from the interview by the unexpected visitor as it continued to fly around them.

Towards the end of their chat, Naga asked the pair “Would you mind being quiet for a sec?” as she tried to listen to the bird tweeting.

It comes after Naga made a cheeky dig at one of her co-stars live on air over the weekend.

Naga and Charlie welcomed weather presenter Helen Willetts on-screen on December 10 to share some information about the temperature and likelihood of snow.

The meterologist issued a warning that the weather will be “really cold” and added that the UK could wake up to a “light covering” of snow.

Adding: “The cold weather is set to stay”, Naga immediately made a cheeky dig at her co-star and asked: “See why would I want to hear that?”

With a pop-up appearing on screen Naga told Helen she was “rubbing it in”, as she thanked Helen for her warning and said it was likely she was “very accurate”.

BBC Breakfast airs daily at 6am on BBC One
