Geordie Shore's Nathan Henry conned into online romance by crazed female fan

Geordie Shore star Nathan Henry says he was tricked by a con artist on social media for three years.

He thought he was talking to a potential boyfriend – but it was a crazed fan faking it.

Nathan said: “I was talking to this person for years. We had a real bond.

“They manipulated me and made everything feel so real. I had no reason to doubt them.

“They were very laid back and so chilled. That made me want to talk to them more. I was invested. They knew what to do. They make you believe their lies.

“The conversations we had were sexual. There was talk about us meeting up and going for dates.”

Eventually Nathan started to think something wasn’t right and investigated their social media profiles.

And he was stunned to discover it was a woman using a fake persona – a ploy known as catfishing.

Nathan said: “When I found out, I felt physically sick. I’d talked about work and friends to them. It broke my trust. I realised I’d been so naive and so f***ing stupid.

“It makes you feel like you’ve done something wrong even though you haven’t.

“It made me stop trusting people. And I still don’t know who this woman is.”

Nathan investigates online fakes as a guest host on Catfish UK. The new series continues on Wednesday at 10pm on MTV.
