Helen Flanagan gives update after son rushed to hospital in 'terrifying' accident

Helen Flanagan has admitted that her son Charlie had to be rushed to hospital after a “horrendous” accident at a waterpark.

The former Coronation Street actress updated her fans on the incident with a candid post to her Instagram page as she described what had happened.

Helen, 32, recalled the terrifying experience as she chatted to fans via her Insta story while cuddling her daughter Delilah, seven, on a train journey.

The soap star had been on a visit to Alton Towers with Delilah and her other children with ex-boyfriend Scott Sinclair, Matilda, four, and Charlie, one, when the shocking event played out.

She explained: “We went to a water park, a long story short, Charlie slipped, he slipped really really badly and it was awful, absolutely horrendous.

“I had to get an ambulance and he had snapped his collarbone into two. It was horrendous, so I spent like six hours in the hospital at Stoke.”

Helen then paid tribute to the NHS staff who helped her and Charlie as she visited the health facility.

She continued: “I’d like to say thank you to the paramedics and nurses and doctors who were amazing.

“Thank you so much. I was literally there, at the Stoke hospital. That was awful, just horrible, horrible, horrible. To see your child in pain was just horrendous, but he’s ok.

“There is not much you can do for it, apparently like it mends by itself, but it’s horrible, when you’re a mum and you wish you could take pain away from them.”

Helen captioned the video: “He’s okay bless him x just lots of love and attention and just watching him like a hawk x.”

She then went on to update her followers on her latest adventure as she revealed she had since taken Matilda and Charlie to Paris, having left Delilah at home with Scott’s mum.

Helen also shared a video clip of Charlie walking and as they took in the sights of the city adding: “Charlie’s been amazing bless him so brave x at the Eiffel Tower today.”
