The Chase airs ITV show first as Paul Sinha praises 'best player he's seen' in studio

A player on The Chase received seriously high praise from ITV chaser Paul Sinha on Tuesday night (February 28).

Tuesday’s show saw Debbie from Surray,Joe from Newcastle, Ian originally from Manchester and Kirsty from London face genius quizzer Paul in a bid to take home a hefty cash prize.

But the team got off to a rocky start as Debbie got knocked out of the game by Paul, and police officer Ian only made it back to the team after taking the low offer of £1k.

Luckily, though, Joe put on a very impressive performance when he racked up £6k in his cashbuilder round and made it back to the panel.

Host Bradley had already admitted the team had been dealt an extremely tough set of questions during the game, but he said: “Bradley said: “Wow, what a player!”

And chaser Paul was highly impressed with Joe’s performance, and admitted it was the best performance he’d seen by a player dealing with questions of that difficulty.

He said: “I’m applauding you because that’s the best performance I’ve seen from a player on that level of difficulty of questions.

“Made them all look really easy. Well played, Joe.”

Joe looked rather pleased with himself as he replied: “Thank you very much!”

Questions involved: “In snooker, what word refers to an irregular movement of the ball caused by dust?”, to which Joe correctly answered: “Kick”.

He also correctly answered “York ham” when asked which hams are normally cooked and glazed rather than dry-cured.

In the end, it was Joe, Ian and Kirsty in the final chase against Paul with a total of £11k in the prize pot.

Unfortunately, they were caught with 39 seconds remaining after building up a 15-point lead.

Paul told them they played well but lacked ‘sharpness’, after admitting the team passed on questions unnecessarily.
