Another chimed: “Member of successful boyband gets older and grows his hair long. How shocking and how very dare he. The comments about Mark Owen on this site this evening have been pretty gross.”

“Mark Owen has always been the coolest and most interesting one in Take That, love to see him just being himself at #CoronationConcert and hope he ignores the haters. I can only assume you all look like a f*****g National Gallery work of art” a third added.

Mark previously debuted his shoulder-length and bushy mustache on BBC Breakfast while promoting his new album.

Talking about his look, presenter Sally Nugent said: “Actually, you look different. The moustache; how long’s that been there?”

Stating that he’s had the beard for almost four years he replied: “It started off as a beard and then my beard goes a bit patchy on [one] side. [The beard] can get a bit sweaty on tour. So then it became a moustache and it sort of stuck.”

“My children keep threatening to clip it off,” he explained while admitting that he has to keep it as it’s on all the artwork for the album.
