Kaley Cuoco shares ‘magic trick’ for filming sex scenes in new show despite being ‘old’

Kaley Cuoco has revealed her “trick” to shooting sex scenes that she thinks she’s now “too old” to film.

The Big Bang Theory star, who’s been working in the industry since the ’90s, was talking candidly to USA Today when she made her frank confession.

She said that while filming the sex scenes in her new series, Based on a True Story, she had one big stipulation.

The actress then revealed that she wasn’t the one actually taking part in the racy scenes, instead making use of a body double, while adding “who wants to see that?”

‘I need someone else to do that stuff’

She said: “I don’t roll that way. I need someone else to do that stuff.

“I’m past that. I’m not doing that anymore. Also, who wants to see that? Not my thing.”

With special effects and some “movie magic,” she says, it’s no longer necessary for her to film those scenes.

“I’d rather let someone else do it, and that’s what’s movie magic (is for).

“We don’t have to do those things anymore. We can have someone else do it, and we can fake our way through.”

Cuoco was pregnant with her first child during filming, meaning she relied on her body double more, especially when filming fight scenes.

“I had to be on my feet a lot. It was a lot,” she explained.

“And by the end, I was nine months pregnant. So the fight scene at the end near the grave − the fantasy − a lot of that was done by my double because it was like I was literally about to give birth, like any second.”

The producers also reportedly told her to eat more for the role, which was a first for Cuoco.

“You’ve seen every part of my life − good and bad − in front of everyone. And so it was kind of cool to show this too,” she said.

“Why not? Why not just own it and wear short shirts and let my stomach hang out? I did the swimsuit scene, … And I’m very proud of it, and I hope it inspires other women to be like, ‘It’s fine. We can still do it all.’”
