BBC Morning Live Gethin Jones leaves set abruptly as Sally Nugent exposes unaired error

BBC Breakfast ‘s Sally Nugent and Jon Kay were left floored when Morning Live presenter Gethin Jones ran off set during their link.

As Gethin and Vick Hope went through what was going to be on their programme for Tues June 27, Sally ended it with a cheeky confession.

She told Gethin: “Thank you for being ready when you weren’t quite ready when we just came to you then.”

Gethin replied: “Who did you see? Did you see anyone? I absolutely legged it, did we get away with it?”

Sally said: “Gethin, you seemed a tiny bit breathless, that’s all.”

Gethin admitted he had to dash to his place after being caught out by producers

Gethin joked: “They were saying: ‘We’re on!’ And I thought ‘oh my God'”, as he ran off camera during the link, leaving Vick alone.

She called out: “He’s run out of the studio! It’s okay, everyone is okay,” as the show went back to the BBC Breakfast set.

Jon said to Sally: “Let’s stay here, right?” as the camera panned away from the set.

Meanwhile, Jon was forced to apologise when he accidentally spoilt a surprise on the show during a segment about shaped clouds.

Sally told Gethin that he seemed out of breath as she thanked him for being ready

Sally and Jon went through clouds which were shaped like a dog, the number 22 and a T-rex, but as they tried to show the next picture, it failed to appear on the screen.

She told viewers: “There’s a really clever one coming up next, wait for this one. This is… Are you ready?” before having to make an awkward pause, as she added: “Coming up any second now…”

Jon added: “It will be worth it,” as Sally chimed in: “It’s so good, I think we’re going to save it for later as a special surprise one.

Vick was forced to finish off the series by herself as Gethin ran off

“But I don’t think anything can beat that heart.”

Jon said: “Yeah we’re going to see a swan later,” as Sally jumped in: “You’ve given the game away!”

He immediately responded: “Oh, sorry,” before joking about getting clouds put o their new background in their new studio.
