Maura Higgins left ‘bawling’ as Molly-Mae Hague announces engagement to Tommy Fury

Molly-Mae Hague had her Love Island bestie Maura Higgins “bawling” as she announced her engagement to Tommy Fury.

Maura and Molly-Mae first met in the villa back in 2019, when they were co-stars – with Molly-Mae and Tommy finishing as runners-up in the series.

And now the pair are finally engaged to be married, sharing the news in a sweet social media post.

Maura – who is currently out in the US filming for the American version of the reality show – was one of the first to respond to her BFF.

She penned: “BAWLING AGAIN!!!! ILYSM. CONGRATULATIONS YOU TWO,” along with a series of white hearts and crying emojis.

Molly-Mae’s manager Francesca Britton, meanwhile, added: “Oh my goodness I’m off again, the best news congratulations. Love you all.”

Love Island presenter Maya Jama added: “WE LOVE TO SEE IT! Congratulations you cuties.”

Paris Fury said: “Congratulations to yous, such lovely news and your ring is beautiful.”

And villa alum Olivia Bowen – who definitely knows what Molly-Mae is going through, having married her own co-star Alex – gushed: “Ahhhhhhh my goodness. Congratulations gorgeous people xxxxxxx.”

Molly-Mae initially announced her engagement this weekend, posting a black and white video to her Instagram which showed her in a white dress, holding her daughter Bambi, as Tommy got down on one knee.

Molly-Mae was left sobbing as she saw her husband-to-be in a suit with a ring box, and as the pair exchanged kisses in a stunning clifftop location fans went wild.

The Love Island star captioned the video: “Forever. 23/07/23,” with a ring emoji and a crying face.

It comes after Molly-Mae had a three-word response to Maura joining the US version of Love Island.

With Iain Stirling reprising his role as commentator and Modern Family star Sarah Hyland hosting the show, Maura will fit right in.

Molly-Mae immediately commented: “Let’s go girl!!!” with a crying emoji as Maura announced: “I’M BACK!!!!! Bringing you all the behind the scenes gossip live from Fiji for @loveislandusa.”
