Cameo’s biggest celebrity earners – The Inbetweeners, Netflix icon and pro boxer

Cameo is the US-based website that celebrities to send personalised video messages to fans.

As of May 2020, more than 30,000 star names from the worlds of entertainment, sport, politics, culture and more joined the platform in order to heighten their connections with their loyal admirers and followers.

But each individual video will come at a cost to the loyal user, meaning that it can also be quite the money-making scheme and we are looking back at some of the biggest stars to have cashed in the most!

James Buckley

The actor is best known for playing Jay Cartwright in the hit Channel 4 sitcom, The Inbetweeners.

He starred in three series of the popular show from 2008 until 2010 before he made a movie with his co-stars, Simon Bird, Blake Harrison, and Joe Thomas in 2011.

And it’s clear that since joining the app, fans cannot wait to receive personal messages from their favourite star as he was announced to be Cameo’s first millionaire.

He achieved the milestone after just two and a half years on the app which he previously said gave him “financial freedom” to pursue his other projects.

Brian Baumgartner joined the cast of the hit NBC comedy show The Office, where he played the role of Kevin Malone from 2005 until 2013.

He was the first US celebrity to pass the $1 million mark on the platform in November of 2021 and he hasn’t looked back since.

The comedy actor charges around $195, which equates to £153.96 per video.

Carole Baskin took the world by storm when she was featured in the hit Netflix documentary, Tiger King.

She was infamous for her feud with Oklahoma-based private zoo owner, media personality, and now convicted felon Joe Exotic as she ran her own animal sanctuary named Big Cat Rescue.

Fans of the show also questioned the star over the disappearance of her previous husband Don Lewis in mysterious circumstances.

After achieving international infamy, she later took part in the US edition of Strictly Come Dancing and it seems that she is cashing in her her newfound stardom.

On her first day on the app, the personality was inundated with requests and she reportedly made £17,762 from the app.

She now charges just under £210 per video or simply £17 for a message, giving her earnings around a whopping $120,000 (£95,000) a week.

Lindsay Lohan had a meteoric rise to fame in 1998 when she starred in the hit Disney film, The Parent Trap and has gone on to star in hit films such as Freaky Friday, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, and of course Mean Girls.

The A-List actress now charges £450 per personalised video, but she wants to do good on the site as she previously helped a fan come out in a heartwarming scene.

She said: “Hi Alana, it’s Lindsay Lohan. I know that you are about to take a very big step in telling your parents who you truly are and what you want them to accept of you — and I think you should do it yourself.

“I think that coming from you, you’ll feel a lot of power and strength. And it’s important that you are who you truly are, and that you love yourself and that you can live by that and tell your parents that.”

In 2020 after upping her video fee, The Sun reported she made $17,000 in just one week .

The American boxing promoter is one of the most famous heavyweights in the world, so it’s no wonder that fans would clamor to receive a personalised message from the star.

However, it would set a follower back thousands as he charges a whopping £13,000 per video!

By far he is the most expensive star name on the celebrity app, however, it seems that he is worth the price as many fans were left impressed with the videos they received.

Kevin O’Leary is a Canadian businessman, investor, journalist, and television personality.

He has appeared in various Canadian television shows including the business news programmes SqueezePlay and The Lang, and O’Leary Exchange, as well as the reality television shows Dragons’ Den and Redemption Inc.

Since 2009, he has also been a regular on the US edition of Dragon’s Den called Shark Tank.

According to the website, his description reads as follows: “4 Time Emmy Award-winning Shark Tank’s Mr. Wonderful, 3 time bestselling author, winemaker, watch collector, guitar dude and photographer,” and it seems fans cannot get enough as they are willing to pay over $15,00 (£1,185) per video

Rhys James

32-year-old Rhys is a star of British Comedy, and it seems fans cannot get enough of his humour on Cameo.

He’s best known for his appearances on TV programme’s such as Mock the Week and Live at the Apollo.

But he cannot help but make people laugh on the site as he’s been named as one of the most expensive names, charging upwards of £900 per video.
