EastEnders’ Spencer Moon ‘to return’ to Albert Square as fans spot major ‘clue’

BBC EastEnders viewers have predicted a shock surprise return for Spencer Moon on the soap.

This comes 18 years after he left Albert Square behind for sunny Australia and as his brother Alfie has been diagnosed with cancer.

The character was played by Christopher Parker who has now changed his career around and trained to become a lawyer.

Spencer and Alfie (Shane Richie) entered the soap in 2002 and caused chaos in Albert Square.

And fans are now suggesting he may come back after Alfie’s heartbreaking prostate cancer diagnosis.

This week, Alfie opened up about his illness to Phil Mitchell and asked him to keep it a secret from his family.

Though Phil was quick to point out there are hereditary risks and noted that he had a brother and a son to think of.

This mention of his brother spurred fans to chat online about Spencer’s potential return to the show.

One wrote: “SPENCER MENTION bring him back NOW # EastEnders “.

A second added: “Right bring back spencer moon #EastEnders”

Fans think he could return

While a third penned: “You don’t hear much from Spencer Moon, do you? #EastEnders”

According to reports, this may not be possible unless producers decide to go for a recast, as Christopher has left his acting career behind and trained as a lawyer.

This isn’t the first time there has been talk about Spencer coming back as in 2010 there were also rumours circulating at the time.

Though a spokesperson for the BBC soap said: “There are absolutely no plans to bring Chris Parker – or the character of Spencer Moon – back to EastEnders.”

This wouldn’t be the only surprise comeback from a cast member this year as Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) is getting ready to come back to the show.

It’s been 25 years since she was been on the Square and the majority of the characters believe she is dead.

However, it was revealed she has instead been under witness protection all of those years under the name of Rose Knight.

The BBC teased her return and said: “Whilst looking for Peter, Cindy is forced to return to Walford, and it’s not long before drama unfolds… Cindy’s first scenes will air next Thursday from 7pm on BBC One and 6am on iPlayer.”
